Travel Budget Template
When planning a trip, budgeting is one of the first steps that we do. After a few times of just winging it, then a few more times of creating notes or a spreadsheet each time, it became obvious that we need to think it through and create one spreadsheet we can keep on using. And that’s why we put together this easy-to-use budget template to plan your next trip!
Get Started With The Template
Just click on the above image or Get My Template button, which will open the preview. From there, click Use Template in the top corner, which will copy the template to your Google Drive and you’re ready to start editing!
Just start changing and adding expenses from row 18 and if you need to, you can always add more rows at the bottom of the spreadsheet. We have prefilled a few of the expenses as an example.
Total Budget
Make sure to set your own total budget in cell B6, which is the amount you are willing to spend on your trip.
Useful tip: It’s good practice to have about 5-10% of your total budget remaining. This comes in handy in emergencies and gives you some leeway to not stress about a strict budget during your travels!

We added 6 categories that we usually use and should cover most budgeting needs. However the categories are fully customizable.
To edit categories, go to the Categories sheet and start adding new categories from B11 or change the existing ones in column B.
